What a week we just had at Disney World! It never ceases to impress and provide us with exhaustive fun. We managed to make it on the highly sought after ride Rise of the Resistance. Getting in line for and riding this ride is unlike any other I have ever experienced. There is no standard waiting line. I am sharing our experience because I found it to be a bit unique.
First, you must have a reservation at Disney Hollywood Studios in Orlando if trying to ride it at Disney World. Secondly, the morning of your reservation you must visit the Disney World App and sign up for a group boarding number in the virtual queue. They are offered on the day of your visit only at 7:00 am eastern time. My husband, brother-in-law, and I woke up early and got our devices ready to sign up for a group. We planned to refresh until one of us got in the queue. It only took about 12 seconds until all groups were “sold out.” My husband was awarded group 85 but my brother-in-law received the message that all groups had been assigned for the day and to try again at 1:00 pm.
We read online from other people that it was possible to link accounts and add people to your group. All a person needs to do is visit guest services and they can help you link your account. All members of your party must be linked to that account in order for them to be in your group. A wonderful Disney employee linked my sister and her four children to our account so we could all ride Rise of the Resistance together. The Disney employee indicated to us that they may not always be able to do that for guests so she recommended that in the future we link accounts the day prior to visiting Hollywood Studios by visiting Guest Services.
