When visiting Italy everyone knows that gelato has to be on the menu. Two of the best places we have discovered are The Old Bridge Gelateria near St. Peter’s in Rome and Giolittis near the Pantheon. A few years ago I was able to take my mom with me and Rick to Italy and when we entered Giolittis the girl behind the counter introduced us to a bevy of rich and very unique flavors. We all chose one flavor but with each request she insisted, practically forced upon us, the need to have the Pistachio Gelato in addition to the flavors we had chosen. Boy, was she ever right! ALWAYS trust the locals when they recommend something to eat is my takeaway from this experience.
